I work for a company that has bought a Kindle DX for our 20+ board and committee members. I bought one of these jackets for my Kindle (a brown one), and when I was asked to get jackets for the board member’s Kindles I went with this brand.
It doesn’t add too much bulk to the Kindle, and has a place to hold a few papers for notes. It’s very easy to get the Kindle in and out, although since it’s not too bulky I seldom ever take it out. It’s been durable – just today I spilled coffee on it and it just wiped right off.
The black ones and the brown ones look professional (can’t comment on the other colors because I haven’t seen them first hand). I’m ok with the way it closes (it’s not a latch, the leather strap slips into a “pocket” on the front) but I could see how it might bother some. It actually gets easier over time as it gets worn in.
I recommend this over the Amazon binder/jacket because this doesn’t have any hard metal clips that might scratch the Kindle. It’s held in place by leather corner straps, the top two have small bits of elastic that allow you to slide it in easily. The straps don’t interfere with the Kindle’s buttons, speakers or power port.
The only downside to this binder/jacket is that there is really not enough room for a decent notepad. That really doesn’t bother me, and it’s a fair tradeoff to keep the bulk down.
Overall, a great product.
