An ebook reader that has both an LCD and displays e-ink will be an interesting device, correct? After all, the ebook reader market becomes more crowded, it is difficult to emerge and be seen, especially if the market has already Amazon's Kindle as a leader in technology, sales and popularity.
So what is a company that is eager to get a slice of cake to do? Simple. It comes with a device that has a lot more than the current culturehas to offer. If the typical ebook reader uses e-ink technology, the addition of an LCD screen too. And even if the pocket ebook reader is used primarily for playback on the road, why not throw in the Internet and navigation? With the additional features in mind, here are the devices have come so far.
Alex Spring Design
Spring Design Alex first time publicly in October 2009, although officially made its appearance at CES this year (January 2010). Theupper unit consists of a screen 6 inch e-ink will be used primarily as a playback screen. On the bottom is a 3.5-inch LCD screen, Google, Android, and very usable for boating activities on the Web or watch video files. Its modules include a mini USB port, 2.5 mm headphone jack, MicroSD card slot, and a one-of-a-kind Duet Navigator feature that allows the user to change the content available to download on the LCD screen e-ink.
EntourageBoard
Edge Entourage is another ebook reader double screen to reach the market in recent times. Unlike Alex, who opted for a smaller LCD, the Entourage Edge seems to put as much emphasis on the functionality of web browsing and other skills, like reading ebooks aspect. Indeed, with its clamshell design, the device sports a 9.7-inch e-ink screen with 16 shades of gray on the left, and a 10.1-inch LCD screen on the right. The next e-ink automaticallyOpens epub and PDF files, while the right side runs on Android operating system as well, and supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Kindle Problems?
The real question now is if the Kindle has finally met its match with these-slash-tablet-PC twin-screen ebook-reader devices. While these new e-readers offer more of what you expect in the ebook standard reading device. But for now, I would not say that hybridreaders with both e-ink display and LCD are traveling to dominate the market for ebook readers.
